The Martyazz Ensemble is the brain child of Martyaz aka Martin Fell, saxophonist, clarinietist  and composer. It is a project rooted in jazz which combines seemingly disparate elements of musical styles. Though this is a new project, Martin has been working, composing and jamming in a variety of contexts for some years now.

Martin believes that, "there is no end to the directions and possibilities in music. Whenever I hear a great group of musicians playing Mozart, Klezmer, Hip Hop, Punk or whatever, I am inspired by the feelings and the worlds they create. There is an energy and enjoyment in all music, which seems to me one of the essential elements that links people together. Music is part of what makes us human. All music speaks to the soul differently.  Each person, from babies in utero to the aged, experience music uniquely. I find this fascinating, and I feel driven to try to make music from these different expressions of humanity."
